WGSN team to share internal research and methodology with identification of all key areas of research. Understand different types of trend forecasters, where to look for inspiration and how to extract meaning.

11:00 The Forecasting Process
Provide key insights and outline the 5 steps used in trend forecasting, from immersion to market. Process to be clearly explained, providing tools for internal implementation. Assembling research information and the 5-step process of “filling the funnel”.

12:00 Interactive Exercise

14:00 Understanding the Direction of Change
Understand different types of trends looking at macro trends, fashion trends and fads. Analysing the Diffusion of Innovation and why brands pick up on trends at different times.

15:00 Knowing your USP & your Consumer
Exploring the importance of knowing what you do best and how can you use this to best serve your customer.

16:00 Disseminating global trends for local markets
Taking a Global to Local approach in trend forecasting, WGSN team to work with attendees in applying the above learnings to aid in translating global trends to impact customers, in their own markets.

17:00 Interactive Exercise
Interactive exercises throughout Trend Masterclass to put learnings into practice with group activities exclusively designed to enable understanding and clarification of the trend forecasting process.

Charlie Clark – Trend Specialist, WGSN

Charlie has a degree in Marketing from Edinburgh University and gained experience in fashion and retail working with retailers such as Topshop and Harrods.

She developed an in-depth understanding of trend forecasting during her time at Stylesight and has spent the last 3 years advising WGSN clients such as Tesco, Arcadia and ASOS.
 
 
Priya Sachdeva- Business Director –South Asia , WGSN
A post graduate in Fashion Management from NIFT, Priya also holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Delhi University. Priya has over 18 years of experience in the Indian Apparel industry with focus on fashion, retailing, strategy and consulting. She has been associated with WGSN since Technopak started handling WGSN’s business in October 2007. She has utilised her experience in strategy and operations to accelerate WGSN’s growth in the South Asia market by 400% in the last 10 years. Priya balances her Indian market knowledge along with product specialization to bring a commercial relevance to WGSN’s business in India.

Priya has represented WGSN South Asia as a speaker at forums and conferences in India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. With a strong focus on client management, Priya and her team help clients embed the trend forecasting process into their product development cycle to ensure they experience real-time benefits that reflect in business.
